72 CJS Players selected for Northerns Junior provincial teams

A new record for CJS, as 72 CJS players are selected to represent Northern Gauteng at the upcoming interprovincial tournaments!

Last year 64 CJS players were selected to the Northern Gauteng teams, which was a new high record for CJS!  This year, CJS created a new high record, with 72 CJS selected to the Northern Gauteng teams!

Congratulations to every player who has been selected!  We are proud of you!

What are the IPT’s?

The IPTs (interprovincial tournaments) are the last team-based tournament on the squash calendar for the squash year (which runs from August to June). Teams are selected to represent each province, and then the provinces play against each other in a round-robin format throughout 4 to 5 days to determine the best age group team and province in South Africa!

The u13, u14, u16, and u19 players will receive full Northern Gauteng provincial colours for squash. The u11 players will receive half provincial colours for squash.

Location of the 2024 IPT

The venues for the IPTs change every year. This year, the venues are as follows:

  • u19: Cape Town
  • u16: Pretoria
  • u14: East London
  • U13: Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth)
  • U11: George

The number of players per high school is as follows:

  • Midstream College: 25 players
  • Hoërskool Zwartkop: 12 players
  • Hoërskool Waterkloof: 2 players
  • Home School: 2 players
  • Hoërskool Eldoraigne: 1 player
  • Afrikaans Hoër Seunskool: 1 player

The number of players per primary school is as follows:

  • Midstream Ridge Primary: 16 players
  • Midstream College Primary: 8 players
  • Laerskool Rooihuiskraal: 3 players
  • Laerskool Hennopspark: 1 player
