CJS Players & Coaches Shine at Senior Interprovincial (Jarvis) Tournament

We’re absolutely bursting with pride over here at Centurion Junior Squash! 🎉 Some of our very own coaches and players recently took to the courts representing Northerns at the prestigious Senior Interprovincial Tournament (IPT) — also known as Jarvis, South Africa’s most elite squash team event.

CJS Talent in Action

Here’s a big shout-out to the amazing CJS players and coaches who competed in the 2025 IPT:

  • CJS Coach Damian Groenewald – Men’s A team
  • CJS Coach Jarrod Cousins – Men’s A team
  • Former Coach Jordin Phillips – Ladies’ A team
  • Elzandri Janse van Rensburg – Ladies’ A team
  • CJS Coach Rounen de Beer – Men’s B team
  • CJS Coach Rico Coetzee – Men’s D team

And a special round of applause for Jordin, who received the Most Improved Female Award at the tournament! 🏆 What a moment!

Northerns’ Strong Performance

Northerns delivered an impressive overall performance at this year’s event:

  • Men’s A team – Finished 2nd overall, runners-up to SACD (South African Country Districts)
  • Ladies’ A team – Also 2nd, also finishing behind the SACD Ladies’ team
  • Northerns was awarded the Most Organised Province
  • And took home the coveted Best Overall Province Award 🥇

What It Means for CJS

To have CJS players and coaches competing at this level — and playing key roles in high-performing provincial teams — is a huge deal. It shows that the pipeline from junior squash to senior competition is working, and that CJS continues to be a launchpad for squash excellence.
