Leading by Example – CJS Coaches Make Their Mark at the 2025 PSA Harlequin Tournament

CJS Coach Luhann Groenewald claimed victory at the squash tournament held from 15–18 May 2025 at the Harlequin Squash Club in Pretoria.

What a fantastic weekend for CJS Squash! Our coaches and players truly made us proud at the recent tournament, showing just how much talent and dedication we have in our club.

In the Men’s PSA Section, we witnessed an epic showdown between two of our very own: Coach Luhann Groenewald and his brother, Coach Damian Groenewald. After a hard-fought match, Luhann emerged victorious to claim the top spot. It’s always special to see siblings push each other to new heights, and both coaches set a great example for our up-and-coming players.

The excitement didn’t stop there! In the Ladies Section, Coach Alexa Pienaar battled her way to the finals and finished in an impressive second place, only narrowly losing to Helena Hudson. Alexa’s determination and sportsmanship were on full display, and we couldn’t be prouder of her achievement.

Our CJS players also made their mark in the tournament. In the PSA Section, Judah Phillips secured 10th place and Juan-Corné Brand finished 13th position – both showing great promise and fighting spirit throughout their matches. Starla Phillips took 6th place on the ladies’ side, while Chanté Leppan finished just behind her in 7th. Their performances are a testament to the hard work they’ve been putting in on the court.

Congratulations to all our coaches and players! Your commitment and passion are what make CJS Squash such a special community. We’re excited to see what the rest of the season holds—keep training hard, supporting each other, and most importantly, enjoying the game!
